Nik Software HDR Efex Pro 2 Now Available
Whether you’re an HDR (high dynamic range imaging) aficionado or still wet behind the ears, you might be interested to learn that the brilliant folks at Nik Software have just announced HDR Efex Pro 2. I bought it tonight and though I haven’t had a chance to use it, the interface is classic Nik: simple and intuitive. There are some new controls and they’ve added the awesome History Browser. I hope to get out soon to make some new images that will allow me to experiment with HDR Efex Pro 2 in the near future.
Until then, here’s a short list of several improvements and new features in this updated version:
- All new tone-mapping engine
- An updated merging interface
- Improved ghost reduction and alignment
- Chromatic aberration reduction
- Depth control, which helps to overcome the flat/no contrast look of many HDR images
- History browser
There’s a lot more packed into HDR Efex Pro 2 that you can learn all about on the Nik Software website. Cruise on over and check it out. If you decide to jump in be sure to use coupon code “BEDGE” at checkout for a 15% discount on your purchase. This discount applies to HDR Efex Pro 2 and every other plug-in Nik makes, including the Complete Collection that bundles all of them together.
